Why Science Week looks different this year

For a number of years, Stile has been excited to contribute to National Science Week celebrations with a themed Escape Room and a colouring competition. Fun, one-off activities, available to teachers for free.

If you're already using Stile, you can find the Escape Room in the Stile Library under the “Supplementary” tab and enjoy it as you always have. What's changing this year is the Science Week promotion around it. We won't be offering free access to the Stile Escape Room for non-Stile schools, and we won't run a colouring competition.

We know this might be an unpopular decision. Plenty of teachers love the Escape Room and come back for it every year. But these activities don't really capture who we are, what we do, and what we care about most.

Stile exists to help you teach evidence-based science, with research-backed pedagogy built into every lesson. If Science Week was your only interaction with us, you'd be forgiven for thinking we were all about stand-alone activities and colouring-in sheets. That’s what we want to change.

We'd rather show you what Stile has to offer every other week of the year: a curriculum-aligned scope and sequence for Years 7 to 10, complete with pracs, investigations, engineering challenges, printed lesson activities, revision materials and assessments, all grounded in how students learn best.

If that's what you're interested in, we'd love to take you through it.
